The Fertility Garden is the home of many exciting UFC projects: our large scale compost pile, greenhouse, a large water cistern, various garden beds with annuals and perennials, two tool sheds, and this year, chickens.
Hence the name Fertility Garden. This garden is the hub of the NE collective and is where all the garden managers from the entire collective come to source compost, sow seeds and take transplants. Since the greenhouse is a collective space, let’s all be sure to treat it that way.
We currently host work parties on Mondays from 3-6pm and Fridays from 2-5pm. Our interests are vast and there are lots of opportunities for fun projects here on this site. Some things we are working on this season include sowing lots of annual and perennial food seeds, growing herbal medicine, building a chicken coop and keeping chickens, caring for the greenhouse and its plants, growing mushrooms on logs, creating a plant library, seed saving, garden design, and more. Change is upon us! Feel free to come join us, or email us for more information.
