Welcome to the Birdhouse Garden! The garden is mostly situated in the backyard where at one time there was only lawn. With a little planing, sheet mulching and sweat the garden birthed into a beautiful vegetable growing space.

In 2012, we had a bumper crop of tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers. In 2013, the rotation continued with root crops.  Some of the varieties included: bulls blood beets, rainbow chard, red onions, cipollini onions, and leeks. In 2014 we are growing brassicas and various members of the carrot family.

2014 Summer Solstice Update:  So far we have harvested nearly 200 lbs of organic vegetables and more is certainly on the way.  Our turnip and radish crops have been impacted critically by root maggots.  Some of the cabbages have been stunted by a lack of available water but at least 1/3 will be ready at the expected harvest date.
